Mayamruga was the first Kannada serial to be produced and aired in Andhra Pradesh. The serial was dubbed in Telugu as Maisri and Malayalam as Kalyanikkapetta Mogaram, with the later versions released as popularly known as the Kannada and the Malayalam versions respectively. In 2012 it was remade again in Tamil as Engal Kannan Enge, with K. Bhagyaraj in the lead role. In 2013, it was remade in Marathi as Madamma Talkies, with Raghu Ram in the lead role.
It is the first serial to have received the title of 'Sangrama' from the Government of Karnataka. The serial was also dubbed in Hindi as Tujhe Main Chahiye in 1999 and in Telugu as Rambha Rambabu in 2002. The Tamil dubbed version was named Virukkapiravi, with the Hindi version Virasat Rakshak. The Telugu dubbed version was named Nuvvu Neevu from the original Kannada version, with the Hindi dubbed version being Nuvve Nuvve.
In 2010, Mayamruga was dubbed in Hindi as Dharam Yug, and in 2011 it was dubbed into Tamil as Dhanam. In 2012, the Kannada version was dubbed into Telugu as Madamma Talkies, into Marathi as Madamma Thaley, and into Malayalam as Madamma.
The serial was remade in Malayalam in the year 1998 as Kumkumacheppu with the lead cast consisting of Mohanlal, Ambika, Kalabhavan Mani, and others. In 2011 it was remade again as Amma with Mohanlal, Ambika, Sameera Reddy, and others.
Mayamruga was the 100th serial to be telecasted. The serial was also dubbed into Hindi as Mayamrujh. The role of Mayamrujha's father played by Nagendra Sha was played by Anil Khanna in the Hindi dub.
The serial has the title song Mayamruga. It composed by V. Manohar. Mayamruga is a romantic song. It is performed well and has a decent tune. Mayamruga is a simple love story. It is one of the best love songs in Kannada cinema.
The movie has many songs and it has a good collection of songs from different composers. The songs are composed by V. Manohar, Mohan Shetty, Hamsalekha, S. Sowmya, Hariharan, J. J. Manjulu, Hamsalekha, and S. M. Subbaiah Naidu. A few songs have been composed by Manohar again.
